5 Meta Ads mistakes that waste a first-time founder's budget

If you are running your first Meta campaign, you are about to make a few expensive mistakes. Here are the five we see most often, and how to avoid each one.

1. Boosting posts instead of using Ads Manager

The "Boost" button is easy, but it gives you very little control over goals, placements and tracking. For lead generation, set up a proper campaign in Ads Manager.

2. Launching without tracking

If your Pixel is not working, you are guessing. Set up and test tracking first. We wrote a short checklist for exactly this.

3. Changing everything every day

Meta's system needs time and steady results to learn. If you change the budget, audience and creative daily, it never settles. Make one change at a time and give it a few days.

4. Sending people to a weak page

A great ad leading to a slow, confusing page wastes the click. Your page should load fast on a phone, repeat the promise of the ad, and have one clear action.

5. Ignoring follow-up

A lead you contact within an hour is far more likely to reply than one you contact tomorrow. Reply fast, ideally on WhatsApp where your customers already are.

Quick win: write down your offer in one sentence before you build any ad. If you cannot, the ad will not work either.
